School Based Youth Services

Mission Statement
Salem County School Based Youth Services Program’s mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of youth in Salem County by providing services and programs which will increase their likelihood of completing their education.

The School Based Youth Services Program helps youth to develop and maintain healthy intellectual, emotional, physical and social relationships with themselves and others.

Parental consent is required for all adolescents ages 13-17. All youth ages 13-19 are eligible to participate in School Based Programs.

Message to Parents
Teenagers face many challenges as they enter adolescence on their way to becoming adults. Many of these challenges are faced in school. The School Based Youth Services Program coordinates with all school districts in providing the services needed to help adolescents enhance their education and cope with life’s challenges. We urge you to join with us to help your teenager receive the support they may need to complete their high school education. Working together we will assist your teen to mature and become a responsible, self supporting adult in today’s society.

Message to Students
Being a teenager today is a challenge, and it can be difficult planning for tomorrow when today’s problems seem overwhelming. School Based is here to help you, by giving you a place to talk it out, by helping you figure out where to go or what to do, or simply by giving you a place to relax among your peers.

Salem County School Based is funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services and operated by the Salem County Vocational Technical School District in cooperation with all schools in Salem County. The Salem County School Based Youth Services Center recently moved and is now located at the Salem County Vocational Technical School’s Prep Center.
