Certified Medical Assistant

Program Content (200 hours):

Salem County Vocational Technical Schools has created an all encompassing, allied health professional program that will provide students will valuable knowledge, practical experience, and national certifications for employment within the medical field.

The Medical Assisting Program prepares students for clinical and laboratory procedures, administrative roles, human relations, and provides working knowledge in phlebotomy and EKG procedures. Students will gain a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, the healthcare profession, and safety procedures. Upon successful program completion, students will be eligible for the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) certifications in Certified Medical Assistant CCMA

 Criminal backgrounds may prevent individuals from obtaining certification and externship/clinical placement

***Criminal background checks are required (additional fee to student)

***Uniform and medical exams are not included.

***Students must have a high school diploma or GED

***Medical Clearance, Laboratory Blood Work, PPD’s and Urine Drug Screen Are Required
