Allied
Health Professionals
The Allied Health Professionals
program at SCVTS is centered on the philosophy that total health
encompasses an
individual’s mind, body, and spirit. An imbalance in one
of the three can have adverse effects on the other two. For this
reason, instruction is focused on a model that reinforces healthy-living
concepts. The Allied Health Professionals program focuses upon
these concepts to develop a new vision of health and wellness.
Classrooms and instructional styles are designed to use the
latest in state-of-the-art technology and equipment, which provides
continuous technology in education. Within the structure of the
program, and through numerous curriculum in action trips students
explore multiple career pathways in the health sciences to help
them decide on a future career.
Students will learn basic healthcare concepts, safety issues,
and skills that all healthcare workers should know. Students
will also get a basic introduction to Medical Terminology, which
includes learning the pronunciation, spelling, and definition
of medical words.
