This course develops skills in the Culinary Arts and prepares students for the many entry level positions available in the Retail/Hospitality/Tourism industry. This comprehensive course provides students with knowledge and skills related to commercial food service establishments. Course topics range widely, to include sanitation and safety procedures, knife skills, nutrition and dietary guidelines, food preparation and production, as well as, meal planning and presentation. Students will earn their Safe Serv Food Handler certification. Employment opportunities for trained, skilled individuals are endless, eight out of the top 18 employers in New Jersey fall within the retail, hospitality, and tourism industries.
