The Salem County Vocational Technical School’s Educational Foundation has a three-part mission:
- Supports district scholarships
- Supports student award programs
- Provides assistance through the purchase of tools, equipment, and uniforms for needy students.
Actual selection of scholarship and award recipients is the responsibility of the SCVTS administration. The scholarship and award criteria are designed to award students for excellence and exemplary performance.

The SCVTS Educational Foundation supports the district’s annual award programs.
Salem Campus (RDS)
The Foundation sponsors an annual graduating gift to the Salem Campus (RDS). The gift will be in the form of an adaptive technology device or devices that can be used by multiple students.
Career and Technical High School
Career and Technical Education Most Outstanding and Most Improved Students Awards
Two awards are presented for each career and technical education program: one for the most outstanding full or shared time senior in each program; and one award for the most improved full time or shared time senior in each program.
Outstanding Post Secondary Student Awards
Up to three awards may be presented to outstanding post secondary students who are enrolled in a career and technical education program. To be eligible, the post secondary student must have participated in a minimum of seven courses and must be eligible to receive a Level I career and technical education certificate.
Career Orientation Program Student Award
Annually an award is presented to a former career orientation student who has completed a career orientation program and who has succeeded as a senior in a career and technical education program.
Annual Alumnus and Apprentice Awards
The Foundation shall provide the SCVTS Crystal Bowl for the annual alumnus and apprentice of the year awards.
Needy Assistance Program
The SCVTS Foundation will provide a Career and Technical High School secondary student assistance program for those students who are unable to meet certain school obligations such as the purchase of tools and/or uniforms that may be required for participation in a career or technical education program. To be eligible the student must meet the National School Lunch program free or reduced price lunch criteria. This program is available to secondary students only.
