For students
applying for admission to the Salem County Career and Technical
High School or the Arts, Science, and Technology Academy Programs,
all admission requirements
prior to consideration for admissions must be completed.
Additionally, each academy program may have specific criteria
that the applicant
must participate in before admission (i.e. auditions, portfolios,
and/or interviews).
For full
time enrollment, applicants generally apply during the first
semester of their eighth grade
year. For shared time enrollment, applicants apply during their
sophomore year. Applications are considered on a rolling admissions
basis.
There are
several ways to obtain an application. Prospective students
may request an application from the home school guidance
counselor or call Mark Kasubinski in the Student Services Department at the Career and Technical High School, at (856) 769-0101, ext. 370, or
e-mail: mkasubinski@scvts.org
An application
is also available for download at Online
Applications.
After the
Student Services Department receives your application, copies
of all your records from your home school will be requested.
We will request copies of your grades from 7th and 8th grade
for full-time enrollment,
and your most recent standardized test scores.
Once the application is complete, you will be scheduled for
an admissions review at the earliest convenience, which may
include an interview or an audition depending upon the program
you choose.
Auditions are required for the Academy of Creative and Performing
Arts dance, drama, orchestral/instrumental, and vocal/chorale
majors. A portfolio of your artwork will be reviewed before
acceptance in the visual arts major.
Prospective applicants who apply for programs that are offered
through the Salem County Arts, Science, and Technology Academy
Programs may be administered appropriate interest inventories,
aptitude, and/or skills tests, as part of the application for
admissions process prior to the applicant being considered.
A new student/parent orientation session is held every year
before school begins to give our new students and parents the
opportunity to meet each other as well as our staff and faculty,
and tour the school.
For more information about the admissions process, call (856) 769-0101,
ext. 370.
